Road Superintendent Billy Pickel, would like to congratulate Brian Brown on his accomplishment of receiving his certificate as a Certified County Financial Officer. His continued education will help insure that Loudon County Highway Department is doing all it can before the Budgets and Finance Office receives anything from the Highway Department. Thank you Brian for your hard work and dedication. The course is a collaborative effort from the State of Tennessee Comptroller’s Office and the University of Tennessee, CTAS.

June is National Safety Month, and June 7th–13th is recognized as Road Safety Week. Loudon County Homeland Security & Emergency Management encourages everyone to stay alert, obey speed limits, watch for pedestrians and roadway workers, and always drive sober and undistracted. Small choices behind the wheel can save lives and help keep our roads safe for everyone.

☀️🚧Sunday morning roads update! The sun is out and helping improve road conditions with all the salt and efforts our crews have been working on since Friday night. All Loudon County Highway Department crews are out and blading off county roads today. Continue to use caution if you must get out but roads are improving! 🚧☀️

❄️🚧Our crews have been out treating the county roads since the snow starting falling about 9pm last night. Road conditions vary around the county. We will continue to work throughout the day. Please use caution if you must travel. 🚧❄️

Today the Loudon County Highway Department employees celebrated our annual Christmas lunch and presentation of the Hawkeye Award/ Employee of the Year. Juan Gonzalez is a 20+ year veteran of the Highway Department and most deserving of this recognition. Our employees are faithful and hardworking at serving the citizens of Loudon County and are the reason we are so successful.

Lenoir City Utilities Board hosted an open house today for their regional training center. This will be a valuable asset for our region and community. They will be able to train regularly and provide a safe response to any interruption of service. It was great to see LUB and FLEC leadership attend this event also. We all serve our community together.
