The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMPHW) Mosquito Control team has identified mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus in surveillance traps and an area of high mosquito activity in the Chickasaw neighborhood. To help reduce mosquito populations and lower the risk of infection, mosquito fogging is scheduled for the evenings of Monday, October 5, and Thursday, October 8, weather permitting.

🦟 Protect yourself from mosquito bites:
Use EPA-registered insect repellents when outdoors.
Wear long sleeves, long pants, and socks when possible.
Take extra precautions during dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.
Remove standing water around your home, including in buckets, flowerpots, birdbaths, and gutters.
Repair window and door screens to help keep mosquitoes outside.
