Deeply honored and humbled to have received the 2026 Keeper of the Flame Award yesterday afternoon!

A heartfelt thank you to the Western Branch Library Support Association for this recognition, and to everyone who gathered at the historic Chestnut Street YMCA to share in this special moment.

The Keeper of the Flame Award carries profound meaning, established in memory of historian Walter W. Hutchins—a visionary who dedicated his life to documenting, celebrating, and preserving African American history and culture throughout Louisville and Kentucky. To be entrusted with carrying that torch forward is both a blessing and a responsibility I hold close to my heart.

Thank you to my family, MOLO Village Board and staff, St. Peters UCC church family and community partners for your constant love, prayers, and support. Let us all continue keeping the flame alive for generations to come! 🔥✨
