At the Lovelady Fire Department, serving our community means being there in more ways than just answering the call when an emergency happens.

🏈 Every home football game, our crew is there supporting our school and community. We help keep the dust under control by watering down the roads around the field, helping make the environment safer and more enjoyable for everyone attending.

And while the game is being played, you’ll find our first responders on the sidelines — ready and prepared just in case a situation arises. Because when seconds count, we want to already be there.

This is what being a volunteer fire department is all about. It’s about showing up, lending a hand, supporting our community, and being there — even when there isn’t an emergency.

The Lovelady Fire Department extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Chief Blaylock of the Latexo Fire Department and his family following the heartbreaking loss of his daughter, Amanda.

There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child. During this incredibly difficult time, we ask our community to keep Chief Blaylock and his entire family lifted up in prayer, offering them comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.

To our brother in service, please know that you and your family are not alone. We stand with you, we grieve with you, and we are here for you.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Weldon Fire Department, Austonio Fire Department, Crockett Fire Department, and the Houston County Fire Marshal for their assistance with the barn fire we responded to late yesterday evening.

We are grateful for the teamwork and support. Mutual aid is an important part of what we do, and we appreciate being able to count on our neighboring departments when the call comes in.

Thank you all for showing up, working together, and serving our community! We are stronger together!
