πŸšŒπŸ’› National School Bus Safety Week October 19–23, 2026πŸ’›πŸšŒ

This week, Nelson County Public Schools celebrates National School Bus Safety Week and recognizes the dedicated bus drivers and transportation staff who help keep our students safe every day!

Our school buses travel throughout Nelson County each day, transporting our most precious cargoβ€”our students!

As we celebrate this important week, we remind everyone that school bus safety is a shared responsibility!

🚌 Drivers: Slow down, stay alert, and ALWAYS stop for school buses when required by law.

🚦 Students: Follow your bus driver's instructions, remain seated, and use caution when entering and exiting the bus.

❀️ Families: Remind your children about safe bus stop practices and the importance of staying alert around traffic.

πŸ‘ A special THANK YOU to our incredible NCPS bus drivers and transportation team! Your commitment, patience, and dedication make a difference in the lives of our students and families every single day.

Let's work together to keep our students safe on the bus, at the bus stop, and on the road!

πŸ’šHomecoming Weekend for our Govs!πŸ’›

Our community came together for a weekend full of school spirit, traditions, and unforgettable memories!

🏈 Friday Night Lights! Our Govs battled the Patrick County Cougars and played hard despite the outcome. Our Marching Govs and Color Guard kicked off the evening with a fantastic performance, alumni band members joined for the National Anthem, and our Elementary Color Guard proudly performed!

πŸ“£ Our Cheerleaders brought the energy with an exciting halftime performance in front of a packed crowd!

πŸ‘‘ Congratulations to our 2026 Homecoming King and Queen, Brody Clements and Taylor Campbell!

πŸ”₯ Following the game, students and families enjoyed a bonfire, music, snacks, and time together! Special thanks to our local firefighters for helping keep everyone safe.

πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί The celebration continued Saturday evening with our Homecoming Dance!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Homecoming Weekend special for our students and community!
