A huge thank you to Parlee Farms for their incredible generosity this fall! So far this season, they have donated 29,742 pounds of fresh produce, including corn on the cob, apples, peaches, and more! 🍎🌽

This fresh produce goes right out our door to serve our Community Market and Mobile Pantry clients, our member agencies, and so many more neighbors throughout the Merrimack Valley. đź’š

Since July 2025, 196,000 Massachusetts residents have lost their SNAP benefits. Federal changes to the program have created new challenges for SNAP access, without providing states with additional support to implement these changes.

In Massachusetts, the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) plays a critical role in helping eligible residents access and maintain their SNAP benefits. But the system is overwhelmed, making it harder for people to get the assistance they need. As a result, families who rely on these benefits are facing additional barriers to putting food on the table.

We need to ensure DTA has the staffing and resources necessary to answer every call, support eligible residents, and help keep food on the table for Massachusetts families.

On October 21st, the MA House passed its budget with a significant increase in funding for DTA. We now need the Senate to include this commitment in their budget.

Our friends at Project Bread have made it easy to send a message to the House thanking them for their support and a message to the Senate urging them to invest $176.5 million in DTA so people can get the SNAP help they need.

Help make Thanksgiving brighter for our neighbors! 🧡

Planning a Thanksgiving food drive? We’d love to have you join us in collecting shelf-stable foods to help local families enjoy a holiday meal and have nutritious options for the days in between.

Please plan to drop off your food drive donations by November 13 so our volunteers and warehouse team have enough time to inspect, sort and prepare everything to get out the door to our member agencies in time for Thanksgiving.

Print this flyer out and attach it to your donation box at school or work, or collect things on your own at home!

MYTH: People who receive SNAP benefits don’t work.

FACT: Many people receiving SNAP are working, but their income still isn’t enough to cover all of their household expenses.
