Cemetery Clean-up

Please remove all items from your loved one’s headstones in all Waterford Cemeteries by November 8, 2026. This includes flowers and decorations. Anything not removed by November 8, 2026, will be thrown away before the caretakers prepare the cemetery for the winter season. Flags will be removed after Veteran’s Day.

Please pass this information along to anyone you know who has loved ones buried in our cemeteries.

If you need to make alternative arrangements to remove any items from the cemeteries, please contact the Cemetery Committee through their email [email protected].

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out on September 18, 2026, to help clean and preserve the cemetery stones at Lower Waterford Cemetery!

Together, we cleaned approximately 52 cemetery stones—a wonderful accomplishment! Your time, hard work, and dedication will help preserve these stones and the history they represent for generations to come.

We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers who shared their time, energy, and enthusiasm for this important project. Your efforts make a real difference in caring for our cemeteries and honoring those who came before us.

Thank you for helping us preserve a piece of Waterford’s history!

BOATER SAFETY ALERT:

Great River Hydro will be drawing down the water level in the Comerford Reservoir to 8 feet below its current elevation in preparation for maintenance work this upcoming Monday, 5/18.

Starting Thursday morning, 5/14, the water level will be gradually lowered to 8 feet below current level by Monday 5/18, after which point Great River Hydro expects to return the water level to normal by Thursday, 5/21.

If you are planning on recreating on the Comerford Reservoir between 5/14 and 5/21, please be advised that boat ramps on the water body might be unusable due to low water levels, and previously underwater hazards, like rocks and logs, could be present. Please use extreme discretion if recreating on the water during this time.

This drawdown is not anticipated to affect water levels in the Moore Reservoir.

Thank you for your consideration and please pass the word along to anyone you know who might be considering recreating on the Comerford Reservoir during this time.
