Lowman Volunteer Fire District

This afternoon at 1:53 PM, the Lowman Volunteer Fire District was dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle head-on collision resulting in a fatality on Highway 21 at Mile Marker 84.9.

Two engines and a rescue truck responded to the scene, along with East Boise County EMS, Air St. Luke’s and Light Flight. All agencies involved did an absolutely outstanding job working together, through an extremely difficult scene, involving multiple patients.

These are the moments that remind us just how fortunate we are to have such dedicated volunteers serving the Lowman community and Boise County. We could not be more proud of, or thankful for, the men and women who answer the call when their community needs them most.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved.

We are working a multi-vehicle car crash on Highway 21 near milepost 84, which is close to the Sourdough Lodge area.

The highway will be closed in both directions for some time.

Please plan accordingly.

Last night, the Lowman Volunteer Fire District was dispatched to a rollover accident on Banks Lowman Road near mile marker 32 following a vehicle pursuit.

Our first unit arrived on scene within nine minutes and immediately established command. Additional resources, including two engines, East Boise County EMS, and our rescue/extrication truck, arrived shortly afterward.

Lowman Fire crews immediately began working to extricate the patient while East Boise County EMS worked to stabilize them. Through excellent teamwork and coordination, the patient was successfully extricated and transported by Air St. Luke’s for further medical care.

We are thankful that there were no additional patients or injuries as a result of the pursuit.

This incident was an outstanding example of the many agencies that work together throughout Boise County to provide emergency services to our communities every day.

Chief Jon Delvalle, 63
Garden Valley Fire Protection District. Garden Valley, Idaho
On August 15, 2021, while on duty, Chief Delvalle was exposed to a patient who was COVID-19 positive. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on September 14, 2021.
