Today, Lewis County employees wore purple in recognition of Su***de Prevention Awareness. 💜

Wearing purple is a simple but powerful way to show that hope and healing matter. Every purple shirt, ribbon, and accessory helps start conversations, reduce stigma, and remind others that they are not alone.

Together, we can help create a community where everyone feels supported!

Join us this Friday from 5:30 to 8:00PM at Riverside Park in Lyons Falls for our final Food Truck Friday of the season! 🎉

Enjoy delicious food and drinks, live music, yard games, art, and community pride.

This special event coincides with Art in the Park and the Lyons Falls Elementary Time Capsule Grand Opening. For some history, Bob Carnie, a former fifth-grade teacher at the school, buried a time capsule in 1975 with his class. Recently, his classmate Jeff Hoskins rediscovered it, and it is set to be opened that very evening, reconnecting the community with its past.

Plus, this year's Community Service Appreciation Award will be presented!

Don’t miss out on this memorable evening! 🌟

ROAD WORK UPDATE – WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026

Today, Lewis County Highway crews will be paving the area of Number Four Road in the Town of Lowville where the large culvert pipe was recently replaced.

Motorists traveling through this area should expect delays while paving operations are underway. If possible, please consider using an alternate route.

Once work on Number Four Road is complete, crews will move to West Road in the Town of Turin, between State Route 26 and West Main Street, to pave a small section of roadway. Crews will also be completing several smaller snowmobile crossing locations throughout the day.

We are primarily highlighting the Number Four Road location due to the higher traffic volume in that area.

Please slow down, use caution around our crews and equipment, and thank you for your patience while this work is completed.
