Meet the New Medic Class! The next generation of paramedics is officially underway! 💪🏼🚑

We’re excited to introduce the newest group of students beginning their journey toward becoming paramedics. Over the coming months, they’ll put in countless hours of studying, skills practice, clinicals, and plenty of hard work as they take on the challenge of becoming the next generation of providers. There will be long days, difficult calls, lots of questions, and probably more caffeine than anyone would like to admit… but there will also be plenty of growth, teamwork, and memories made along the way.

Welcome to the medic class! We’re excited to watch you learn, grow, and become the providers you’re working so hard to become. 🚑❤️

Here’s to the beginning of the journey! 🩺📚
Class of 2027, let’s get to work!

Today, we remember.

On September 11, 2001, people woke up, went to work, boarded airplanes, and began their shifts just like any other day. They had no idea that before the day was over, their lives, and the lives of so many others, would be forever changed. Some never made it home.

Others ran toward the danger while everyone else was trying to escape it. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless other first responders put their own lives aside to save complete strangers. They climbed stairwells, carried the injured, searched through the devastation, treated the wounded, and continued forward despite the unimaginable circumstances around them.

Today, UMC EMS had the honor of joining fellow first responders in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Our crews climbed 110 floors in their gear, carrying with us the weight of what those stairs represented and honoring the first responders who climbed them that day.

110 floors. 2,226 steps. A reminder that behind every step was a life, a sacrifice, a family waiting for someone who never came home.

We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who ran toward the danger.
We carry their legacy with us.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
