This was a significant event for Lubbock as we cut the ribbon on our new specialized treatment and detention center for those who are arrested and suffering mental, alcohol or substance abuse issues rather than incarcerating them in our jail. Special thanks to our state legislators and to Beth Lawson and her Star Care team for getting this done!

I am truly saddened by the passing of Ms. Peggy Bohmfalk. I enjoyed meeting Peggy during our time running for Mayor and quickly came to appreciate her intelligence and her desire to do good for our city.

My prayers and deepest condolences are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the first responders, service members, and countless Americans who stepped forward with incredible courage in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to carry their memory with us and remember the strength and unity our nation showed during one of its darkest moments.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

A proud day for Lubbock and West Texas. Today, we officially dedicated and cut the ribbon on the West Texas State Veterans Cemetery. May God bless this ground, may families and loved ones find peace and comfort here, and may our veterans never be forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who made this project possible, and thank you to the many veterans who protected our freedoms. 🇺🇸

This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to welcome students back to Lubbock and pray over them at Worship on 19th.

Our college students bring so much life and energy to Lubbock, and it was encouraging to see so many come together in faith as they begin a new year.
