DID YOU KNOW? It takes about 3 full-time firefighters to keep one position
staffed around the clock.
Maintaining one firefighter position 24 hours a day, 365 days a year requires
approximately three full-time employees.
At Northshore’s Standard service level, the District would always have 11 firefighters on
duty across five stations. Providing that coverage requires approximately 31 full-time
positions, currently we have 15 positions staffed.
That staffing is what allows stations to remain available around the clock and resources
needed to save the most lives and property.

Did you know? Only two of the Northshore five fire stations are currently staffed!

Northshore Fire Protection District provides fire, emergency medical and all risk emergency response across approximately 357 mi.², serving more than 10,000 residents from the Mendocino county line to the Colusa county line.

Today fire ems response is provided primarily from stations in Nice and Clearlake Oaks, leaving three of the districts five stations without regular staffing. This increases public safety risk to both lives and properties.

**PSA: CONTROL BURN NOTICE**
On Saturday, June 27, from 8A.M.-3P.M. Northshore Fire Protection District will be taking place in “Operation Get Ready,” a controlled burn for the purpose of wildland fire training to enhance preparedness as we approach fire season. All State, Local and Government fire agencies will be represented in this event. This will be located behind the old juvenile hall on Whalen Way in Lakeport.

Local 5111 your Northshore professional firefighters would like to say congratulations to Aubreyana Suzor of Upper Lake for winning the Local 5111 Fire Explorer scholarship of $1000. Aubreyana was an active Explorer, VP with ABS, very involved with FFA and an ambassador at Upper Lake High for new students. She obtained her AA degree while still in high school and maintaining 3.7 GPA. She’s gonna apply this to her next adventure at Chico State. We wish her the very best.
