Staircase Youth Services will be hosting a lunch & learn at MCC MS on Monday September 21st!

➡️ Come on over to our table at lunchtime and write any positive message that comes to mind on one of the colorful strips of paper. We will then loop the strips and stable them together as we go to create a chain! Together we will create a positivity chain of hope to hang up in the school for everyone to see! ⬅️

🎒📚 The wait is over! 📚🎒

The Back-to-School Backpack Bonanza is happening on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 3:00–6:00 PM at Jaycees Minigolf.

This FREE community event is open to all Mason County students in Pre-K through 12th grade and is designed to help families get ready for the new school year.

Kids will receive:
🎒 Free backpacks
✏️ Free school supplies
🎨 Face painting
🎉 Games, activities, and so much more!

Children must be present to receive a backpack and school supplies.

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible local businesses, organizations, and community partners who make this event possible year after year. Your generosity and commitment to our students are what make the Backpack Bonanza such a success! ❤️

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who supported the June 15 Charity Monday fundraiser and to all who helped make this donation possible! We are incredibly grateful to receive $333.75 to support the youth and families we serve through Staircase Youth Services.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Jaycees Minigolf for hosting Charity Mondays and providing local nonprofits with an opportunity to raise awareness and receive support from our community. Your commitment to helping organizations like ours make a difference is truly appreciated.

Community support like this helps us continue providing opportunities, resources, and encouragement to local children and families throughout the year.

As we look ahead to the new school year, don't forget about our annual Backpack Bonanza on August 19 from 3:00–6:00 PM at the Jaycees Mini Golf Course! Area students will receive a FREE backpack, enjoy a round of mini golf, and collect school supplies at each of the 18 holes.

This event is made possible through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and community members. Thank you for investing in our youth and helping students start the school year prepared and confident.

As our Charity Mondays continue, Staircase Youth Services executive administrator Kerry VanHouten accepted a check from the June 15 Charity Monday for $333.75. This organization assists local youth and families. One of their upcoming events taking place at the Jaycees' Mini Golf Course will be the Backpack Bonanza, Aug. 19 3:00-6:00, during which area school students will receive a free backpack, golf through the course and receive a different school supply at each of the 18 holes. Many local businesses and individuals financially contribute toward requested school supplies.

A huge thank-you to the Ludington Area Jaycees for their mini grant supporting at-risk youth in Mason County!
This funding helps create more opportunities for family time and positive activities—making a real difference for local families. We truly appreciate your support!

Today, we are excited to highlight one of the recipients of our Major Grant Program, made possible by the fantastic support of our customers at Ludington Jaycees Mini Golf—a fun and easy way to give back to the community! Our recipient of $1,000 is Staircase Youth Services Mason County , which mentors and addresses homelessness across Mason, Lake, and Oceana counties.
Grant funds will also support family activity nights, including one event hosted at the Ludington Jaycees Mini Golf Course and Patio during the summer of 2026. We are proud to support the impactful work Staircase Youth Services does for local youth and families.
