Two rivals, one shared mission!

The Hahnville Tigers and Destrehan Wildcats came together at Luling Elementary to share what it takes to succeed in high school and beyond. Across both sides of the river, our students are inspiring the next generation.

From September 15 to October 15, we have honored the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities!

To mark the occasion, we've had wonderful guest student readers on the morning announcements each day to share short biographies of famous Hispanic men and women who have made a lasting impact on our world.

Today our 4th graders put their science knowledge to the test by building miniature windmills to explore how we harness wind energy to do work. Look at those functional designs!

🚀 Reach for the Stars in 1st Grade!
Ms. Chatman’s 1st grade Tiger Cubs just finished their Astronomy unit in Knowledge with two out-of-this-world projects!
Our young astronomers brought space to life by crafting their very own mini solar systems and building delicious constellation models out of marshmallows and pretzels! Learning about the universe has never been so hands on... or so yummy!
Way to go, 1st grade! Keep shining bright!

Every voice matters and every student deserves to be heard.

Did you know that October is AAC Awareness Month?
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Some of our students express themselves through spoken words, some through signs, and others using AAC devices or tools!

Our kids have stories to tell, jokes to share, questions to ask, and big ideas to bring to the table. AAC gives them the exact tools they need to shine and be heard.
Join us this month as we listen, connect, and celebrate communication in ALL its forms! 💙
