Early voting begins today.

The Lumberton ISD VATRE is on the Nov. 3 ballot. If approved, the M&O operating tax rate would increase by six cents while the district lowers the I&S debt tax rate by five cents, resulting in a one-cent net increase to the total tax rate.

🎶 The Mighty Raider Band has done it again—STRAIGHT 1s at the UIL Region Marching Contest! 💙❤️

Our Raiders are advancing to the Area round in two weeks in Lindale! Congratulations to our talented students and dedicated band directors on this outstanding accomplishment! 👏

Special thanks to Coach McDonald and the Lumberton Varsity Football team for coming out to cheer on our band. We love seeing our Raiders support one another!

The band takes the field at 4:10 p.m. at PNG Stadium to perform their show, “Through the Storm.” Come out and cheer on our talented students as they showcase their hard work and Raider pride! ❤️🥁

A little more shade means a lot more playground fun! ☀️🛝

Special thanks to the Hardin County Rotary Club, Early Childhood PTO, and Lumberton ISD Maintenance Department for helping provide a new shade canopy for the Lumberton Early Childhood School playground! We also thank Modern Concrete and Materials for providing the concrete for this project.

We are grateful for the community partners, families, and staff who worked together to make our playground a more comfortable place for our youngest Raiders to play! 💙❤️

On Friday, October 23, Lumberton ISD will proudly host First Responder & Military Recognition Night as our Lumberton Raiders take on the Livingston Lions at Raider Stadium!

We invite all first responders, active-duty military members, and veterans to join us for a special pregame recognition as we celebrate the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving, protecting, and defending our communities and our country. 🇺🇸

🎤💙❤️ RAIDER REWIND: CAFETERIA FAVORITES! 🍕🍗🥔

In celebration of National School Lunch Week, we asked our Raiders a very important question:

🍽️ “What is your favorite food served from the school cafeteria with Lumberton ISD Department of Child Nutrition?”

We loved hearing the variety of answers from our students! From longtime favorites to some surprising choices, one thing is certain—our Raiders have some pretty diverse tastes! 😋

🎬 BONUS FOOTAGE! We also turned the question over to some of our staff members, asking them to take a trip down memory lane and share their favorite cafeteria foods from when THEY were in school!

And we have to ask… is anyone else TEAM CHICKEN RINGS?! 🙋‍♀️🍗 Because chicken rings with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a good school cafeteria roll were hard to beat! 😂

A special shoutout to our amazing Child Nutrition teams who work hard every day to serve our students and create some cafeteria favorites of their own! 💙❤️

Although tomorrow is officially National Boss’s Day, Lumberton ISD is celebrating a little early as we recognize our Superintendent, Dr. John Mathews!

Dr. Mathews leads with a servant’s heart, a genuine love for people, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for our students, staff, and community. Whether he is encouraging a staff member, celebrating a student's success, or making decisions that shape the future of our district, he leads with purpose, humility, and a desire to make a lasting impact.

Dr. Mathews often reminds us of the importance of our work through words he shares with our Raider family:

"We are impacting eternity through the lives we touch, the relationships we build, and the subjects we teach."

These aren't just words he shares; they reflect the way he leads. He continually challenges us to look beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of education and recognize the lasting impact we can have on the lives of others.

Is a VATRE the same as a bond election?

No. A VATRE provides operating revenue for daily expenses such as employee compensation, student programs, safety, transportation, technology, utilities and maintenance.

A bond election authorizes funding for long-term capital projects.

The Lumberton ISD VATRE would not authorize the district to issue bonds or incur new bond debt.
