Our thoughts and prayers are with the two firefighters who were injured and airlifted in the fire today across the county. We also send continued prayers to the ones still fighting the fire. We urge you please do not burn any outside material until conditions improve, it’s the driest we’ve seen it in a long time right now and one little pile of trash to burn in the yard could grow to something way bigger and more dangerous. Not only to you and your property but your neighbors and their property as well, and the ones who have to come put it out!

Today, we here at Allenton Fire Department pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to protect them.

From all of us at Allenton Fire Department — thank you to our fallen heroes, our veterans, and all who continue to serve.
