Luverne Rescue We operate with 2 crews 24/7 to provide EMS services to Luverne & almost 2/3 of Crenshaw County.

10/17/2026

We know many residents across Crenshaw County are still cleaning up fallen trees, limbs, and other debris left behind by Hurricane Isaias. We also understand that burning may seem like the easiest way to get rid of it.

However, with the strong winds we’re experiencing this weekend, we’re asking everyone to please hold off on any outdoor burning.

It only takes one strong gust of wind for a small fire to quickly spread out of control, putting nearby homes, property, and even lives at risk.

We understand that everyone is ready to get their yards and property cleaned up and get things back to normal. We just ask that you give it a little more time and wait until weather conditions are safer.

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Wind Advisory for Crenshaw County beginning tonight at 10 PM and continuing through Saturday at 7 PM.

North winds of 15–25 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph.

Our biggest concern is the damage left behind from Hurricane Isaias. We still have trees that were weakened or damaged during the storm. With winds expected to reach 40 mph, there is a possibility of additional trees falling, power outages, and roads becoming blocked again.

We ask everyone to please use extra caution tonight and throughout Saturday. Avoid parking or standing near damaged trees, secure any loose items around your home, and be especially careful when traveling.

If you come across a downed tree or power line, please stay clear of the area and report it to the appropriate authorities.

Please take a little time today to make sure your property is secure and be mindful of the conditions expected over the next day.

**Hurricane Relief Donations Needed**

Crenshaw County EMA is assisting the Crenshaw County CPC in collecting donations for our neighbors in Conecuh and Monroe County, who were hit hard by Hurricane Isaias.

As these communities begin the recovery process, many families are in need of basic everyday essentials.

We are asking our community to come together and help by donating items such as:

- Baby wipes and diapers (all sizes)
- Soap, shampoo, and body wash
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Toilet paper and paper towels
- Other personal hygiene and basic necessity items

Donation Drop-Off Location:

All donated items will be collected and distributed to help those affected by the hurricane.

Crenshaw County was fortunate compared to some of our neighboring counties, and now we have an opportunity to lend a helping hand to those who need it most.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.

🚨 IMPORTANT STORM SAFETY UPDATE – CRENSHAW COUNTY 🚨

As of approximately 1:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, emergency radio traffic has included reports of numerous hazards throughout Crenshaw County.

⚠️ CURRENTLY REPORTED CONDITIONS:

🌳 Numerous trees down across multiple roadways

🚧 Roads blocked by fallen trees and debris

⚡ Downed power lines in multiple areas

🌧️ Flood Watch reported for Crenshaw County through 1:00 p.m. Saturday

🚑 Potential delays in emergency response due to hazardous road conditions

Reports are coming in from so many locations that we cannot provide a complete or continuously updated list of affected roads. Please do not assume a roadway is safe simply because it has not been mentioned.

🚨 PLEASE AVOID ALL UNNECESSARY TRAVEL!

Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways, around fallen trees, or near downed power lines. Treat all downed electrical lines as live and dangerous.

If you are currently somewhere safe, please stay there. Emergency responders and utility crews need room to work safely, and additional traffic can create further hazards.

🚑 EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Please understand that hazardous conditions, fallen trees, and blocked roadways may result in longer emergency response times. Crews may have to find alternate routes to safely reach those needing assistance.

📍 HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY INFORMED!

We encourage residents throughout Crenshaw County to use the comments section of this post to share updates about conditions in their areas.

If you have information about downed trees, blocked roads, flooding, downed power lines, or other storm-related hazards, please let everyone know!

When commenting, please include:

📍 Location: Road name or general area

⚠️ Hazard: What is happening or what has been reported

🕒 Time: Approximately when the condition was observed

🚧 Road Status: Whether the road is blocked or passable, if known

Please only share information you can safely confirm. Do not leave your home or put yourself in danger to check conditions.

Our hope is that sharing this information will help neighbors stay informed, avoid dangerous areas, and make safer decisions.

Please remember that conditions can change rapidly, and information shared in the comments may not reflect current conditions. Comments are community reports and are not official road closure notices.

🚨 IF YOU HAVE A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.

Please do not rely on Facebook comments to report emergencies, downed power lines, or other immediate dangers.

❤️ WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, CRENSHAW COUNTY!

We understand that everyone is concerned about their homes, property, and loved ones. However, your safety is more important than checking on damage tonight.

Please stay home if you can, look out for one another, and help us keep our community informed.

Stay safe, Crenshaw County!
