⛔️ LYME - MITCHELL HILL ROAD CLOSURE

Mitchell Hill road in Lyme is closed to through traffic near the Ravine trail due to a low hanging wire. Public Works has coned off the road and Frontier Communications has been contacted to remove the low hanging wire.

Eversource showing 21 customers without power in Lyme. Crews dispatched to focus on remaining restoration work.

UPDATE: POWER BEING RESTORED IN LYME

LYME - WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGE IN AREA

Most of the power outage is contributed to an issue at the Bokum Road (Essex) substation that provides power to Lyme and Old Lyme. Estimated time of restoration (ETR) is currently between 5-7pm today.

Direct coordination with Eversource is ongoing on damage assessments and prioritization repair/restoration efforts.

To report an outage (text OUT to 23129) or request updates (text STAT to 23129).

- Route 156 Clear
- Route 82 Clear
- Town Woods Road Clear
- Bill Hill Road Clear
- Brush Hill Road Clear
- Mount Archer Road Clear
- Clark Road Clear
- Salem Road Closed ⛔️

With debris and wet leaves in roadways, use caution, slippery conditions and impacts traction and braking. Reduce speeds.

Large portion of a tree in the roadway on Beaverbrook Road with wires involved. Power out in the neighborhood.

Based on the multiple road blockages, location has been made a priority with Eversource. A crew has been assigned.

TRAFFIC CONES PLACED IN ROADWAYS TO PROTECT YOU AND UTILITY WORKERS

With this initial damage from the nor'easter, we already have a lot of debris and utilities down in roadways. Power lines can still be active and life threatening.

Friendly reminder: DO NOT MOVE CONES

Under Connecticut General Statutes § 14-314b, any person who willfully removes, injures, or tampers with any official traffic control device, portable warning light, or barricade is guilty of a Class D misdemeanor.

The Penalty: A criminal conviction carrying a potential fine of up to $250 and/or up to 30 days in jail.

Tonight:

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 57. Northeast wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday:

Showers. High near 64. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Large tree down with wires involved near the Joshuatown Bridge. Utilities have been removed. Public works enroute to clear debris on Old Hamburg Road.

Joshuatown Road now fully open.
