On this final morning of our seventy fifth summer, we were delighted to welcome the Lynchburg Public Library Bookmobile back to Camp KumâBaâYah Nature Center. Campers at Poplar Place, Alvalaz Abode, Nunoâs Nook, and The Ridge enjoyed cooling off in the shade and air conditioning while browsing a great selection of childrenâs books and graphic novels. It was a perfect way to slow down and enjoy stories with friends as we close out this milestone season.
A systemâwide technical error meant that books and library cards could not be issued or checked out today. Parents of campers in our older groups may need to reassure their campers that Poplar Place did not break the Bookmobile. One camper asked this morning, and it gave everyone a good laugh.
Even with the glitch, it was still a wonderful chance to bond over favorite books and discover new titles together. Thank you to our friends Olivia and Amy from the Lynchburg Public Library for bringing this great community resource to camp and helping us end our seventy fifth summer with imagination and joy!
