Weekend Nor'easter Storm & Preparedness

A Nor’easter storm has formed and has pushed westward overnight. Impacts are expected in our Meadowlands area in the low lying roadways, which experience flooding during similar storms.
During high tide cycles, expect roadway flooding to peak; especially during the full moon on Saturday. Those residing at 1301 Wall Street West and 120 & 240 Chubb Avenue, as well as those traversing this area for work, must be cognizant of flooded roadways. DO NOT attempt to drive through flood waters, as this is extremely dangerous and can be fatal.

Rainfall may be heavy at times and will average between 1 to 3 inches, with higher amounts possible through Sunday.

Winds will platy a major part of the storm, and all residents should take the time to secure outdoor furniture and objects. Winds will average 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 to 44 miles per hour.

High Tide Cycle for Berry’s Creek:
(Special Attention to Polito Avenue / Wall Street West / Valley Brook Avenue east of Polito Avenue / Lower portions of Chubb Avenue & Clay Avenue)

FRI 08:53 AM EDT - 09:07 PM EDT
SAT 09:25 AM EDT - 09:42 PM EDT
SUN 09:58 AM EDT 10:19 PM EDT

Twenty-five years ago today, September 11, 2001 changed our nation forever.

On this solemn anniversary, the members of the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the ordinary citizens who helped strangers, and all who demonstrated extraordinary courage during our nation’s darkest hours.

We also remember the survivors, the families who continue to carry unimaginable loss, and the responders who later became ill or lost their lives because of their service.

For those of us who serve in EMS, September 11 remains a powerful reminder of what it means to answer the call: to serve without hesitation, to care for one another, and to stand together when our community needs us most.

Twenty-five years have passed, but our duty to remember has not.

We remember the lives lost.
We honor the heroes.
We stand with their families.
We will never forget.

Throw back to the 1980s when our ambulances and supplies were stored in the police department building. Our current building was designed in the late 80s and built in the early 90s opened in 1991. Our building will be 40 years young in 2031.
