If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of measles, please STAY home and avoid contact with others.

If medical treatment or guidance is needed, please call the appropriate office **before arriving**—whether that is the health department, your healthcare provider’s office, or the hospital. Let them know that you suspect measles so they can take the necessary precautions to protect you, other patients, and healthcare staff.

Unvaccinated individuals, infants under 12 months old, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems are most susceptible to catching and suffering severe complications from measles. Measles is extremely contagious, about 9 out of 10 unvaccinated or non-immune people exposed to the virus will become infected.
