We had a couple of special guests join us at Tuesday’s monthly business meeting!
•
This month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Troy and Kevin, two representatives from the Santiam Canyon Long Term Recovery Group, who joined us this week to present Lyons Rural Fire District with a generous grant!
•
This funding, stemming from the OSFM CWRR funding, will allow our district to improve the defensible space surrounding our fire stations, reducing potential wildfire risks and enhancing the safety of our facilities, equipment, and personnel.
•
These improvements will strengthen our district’s wildfire preparedness and also serve as a practical example for community members interested in creating defensible space around their own homes and properties.
•
Lyons Rural Fire District would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Santiam Canyon Long Term Recovery Group for their generosity! We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to putting these funds to good use as we continue working toward a safer, more wildfire-resilient Santiam Canyon!
•
Thank you all for your continued support of Lyons Rural Fire District! ❤️

I want to thank everyone who came to help me celebrate my retirement after 40 years as Fire Chief, as well as everyone who called, sent mesages or left kind words on Facebook. It meant a lot to me to see so many family members, friends, fellow firefighters, and members of our community there. I’m truly grateful for all the support over the years and will never forget this special day.
