Good Morning!
The developing Nor'easter off the Mid-Atlantic coast will meander offshore of New England through the weekend into early next week. This will bring impacts, mainly to the Downeast coast, of gusty winds, dangerous seas, and periods of rain.
Wind gusts are expected to be up to 40 mph for the coast, with lower winds inland north. Winds offshore could approach 50 mph, bringing dangerous seas with up to 15 ft waves offshore and 5-8 ft waves nearshore. A Gale Warning is in effect for coastal waters, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for intra-coastal waters, and a High Surf Advisory is in effect for coastal Hancock County. No impactful coastal flooding is expected, though large breaking waves could be hazardous for those on rock outcrops and pose a rip current risk.
Rainfall will be limited to southern areas through the weekend, with highest totals of around 1 inch for coastal areas. As the storm weakens and moves north early next week, rain chances increase for the north.
No coastal flooding is expected, and no flooding from rainfall, as it will be beneficial for the ongoing drought. A few isolated power outages are possible.
