Thank you to everyone who joined us today for the First Responder Appreciation Brunch at the WIU University Union. It was wonderful to connect with so many members of our first responder community and show our appreciation for all that you do. Thank you to WIU Law Enforcement and Justice Administration for co-hosting the event with us!

A special thank you to the Macomb IL Fire Department Macomb Firefighters Local 3053 for bringing an extraordinary display in recognition of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. As part of the National 9/11 Freedom Flag Raising Call to Action, Macomb Fire recently received a Freedom Flag, a World Trade Center steel artifact recovered from Ground Zero, and educational materials commemorating the events of September 11, 2001. Attendees had the opportunity to view these meaningful artifacts and reflect on the sacrifices, service, and resilience that continue to define our nation and our first responder community.

September 11 serves as a solemn reminder of the extraordinary courage that can emerge in moments of unimaginable adversity. We remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the enduring values of duty, sacrifice, and service to others.
Today, we remember. We reflect. We honor.

The ILETSB Executive Institute, in collaboration with the WIU Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) Program, invites you to join us for an informal First Responder Appreciation Brunch on September 11 in the Lamoine Room of the University Union.

We recognize that several events are taking place throughout the region that day, but we hope you'll take a few moments to stop by so we can personally thank you for your service, enjoy some brunch refreshments, and connect with fellow first responders from across our community.

Whether you can stay for a minute or an hour, we'd love the opportunity to see you, show our appreciation, and spend some time together.

Come and go as your schedule permits. We look forward to seeing you there!
