Continuing our Welcome to Council series, we would like to introduce our new District 2 Representative- Heather Hutcherson!

“I have been teaching elementary art since fall of 2010. My favorite media to teach are ceramics, painting, and fibers. In my free time I like to oil paint, quilt, wool rug hooking and wool applique. My goal for council is to become more involved with MAEA, the organization that has given so much to me over the years, and try to find ways to reach more members in the Northeast district 2 area.”

Today, members of the Macon Fire Department visited our PreK through third-grade students to teach them about fire safety and important ways to stay safe in an emergency.

Thank you to the Macon Fire Department for taking the time to educate and connect with our students. We appreciate all you do to help our students learn important life-saving skills! 🚒
