We've purchased materials from Edward R. Hamilton Bookseller Company for literal decades. They're several kinds of awesome!

🎣 Reel in your next great book this September! 📚

September is a great time to hit the water, and whether you’re heading out for some saltwater fishing or hoping to land your next big catch, a little knowledge can go a long way.

Brush up on techniques, learn more about the fish you’re after, and get ready for your next day on the water with one of our fishing reads. 🌊🐟

- Rivers Always Reach the Sea: Angling Stories by Monte Burke
- To Catch a Fish: Essays on Fly Fishing, Tournament Casting, and Atlantic Salmon by Mark Kurlansky
- Saltwater Tales by John Unkart

Y'all know I'm not posting about a real library, right?😁 I'm getting regular e-mails these days from an outfit called "Govern1", telling me, "As we enter the fall season, we would like to remind you that your listing is now included in Govern1, the global government service directory." (I'm flashing back to the early days of my library career, when I'd get determined phone calls from "business directories", reminding me that I owed them hundreds of dollars to have Hart County Public Library listed on a CD-ROM that would be mailed to us, along with an outrageous invoice.:-P)

Viva The Librarians!🤓

Very inspirational movie...

Congratulations to 'The Librarians' on the well-deserved Emmy win for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking!

'The Librarians' is a powerful documentary that follows public and school librarians as they unite to combat book banning and defend intellectual freedom on democracy's front lines amid unprecedented censorship in Texas, Florida, and beyond.

Thank you to filmmaker Kim Snyder and all the courageous librarians and advocates who shared their stories to help shine a light on the fight for the freedom to read.

Janis Ian and David Gerrold are very wise people.🤓

QOTD: "There are these data centers that use minimal amounts of electricity and don't need millions of gallons of water, to cool them.
They're called libraries."

Need old-school skills? There's probably an analog resource (a book) at your local library.🤓

What other skills are humans losing not listed here?

All of the Newhartbery family of library facilities are welcoming the advent of summer and the return of the annual Summer Reading Program!😁

It's the first of June and it's the first day of our annual Summer Reading Program at Hart County Library. This year's theme is "Unearth a Story" and, unsurprisingly, dinosaurs are featured heavily.🦖 SRP runs through June and July -- you don't have to sign up today, but if you can come by, you'll be welcome.😁 (We'll be posting the schedule of events shortly...)
