My post was removed 😡 Sharing again.
I know there is a lot of concern and fear right now with reports of increased ICE activity throughout the valley. I don’t have all the right words, but I do want to ask everyone to please try to stay calm, stay vigilant, and most importantly, stay safe. Please look out for one another. Know your rights. Share accurate information and please don’t put yourself or others in harms way by escalating an already difficult situation. Fear, anger, and confrontation will not make our communities any safer.
And while it may not feel like much in moments like this, remember your voice matters. Every election matters, and every vote matters if you are unhappy with the direction of our country or the climate we are living in, we have the power and responsibility to make our voices heard at the ballot box.
And finally, i keep coming back to something very simple: “love thy neighbor.” Regardless of where someone was born, what language they speak, or what their immigration status may be. They are still our neighbors, our coworkers, our friends, and members of this community. Please be safe. Look out for one another and choose compassion.
