Today, District Attorney Sally Moreno had the opportunity to meet with Líderes Campesinas del Comité de Madera for an educational community meeting.
During the meeting, Sally listened to members, answered their questions, explained the role of the District Attorney’s Office, and discussed the criminal trial process and how a case moves through the justice system.
The members of Líderes Campesinas were also preparing for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which begins in October. As part of their efforts to raise awareness, they drew, colored, and decorated aprons with messages and artwork to help bring attention to domestic violence and encourage awareness within our community.
Sally emphasized that the District Attorney’s Office is here to serve our community and that conversations like these help ensure community members feel informed, heard, and connected to available resources.

Hoy, la Fiscal de Distrito Sally Moreno tuvo la oportunidad de reunirse con Líderes Campesinas del Comité de Madera para una reunión educativa con la comunidad.
Durante la reunión, Sally tuvo la oportunidad de escuchar a las integrantes, responder a sus preguntas, explicar la función de la Oficina de la Fiscalía de Distrito y hablar sobre el proceso de un juicio penal y cómo avanza un caso a través del sistema de justicia.
Las integrantes de Líderes Campesinas también se estaban preparando para el Mes de Concientización sobre la Violencia Doméstica, que comienza en octubre. Como parte de sus esfuerzos para crear conciencia, decoraron delantales con dibujos, colores y mensajes para ayudar a compartir información y generar conciencia sobre la violencia doméstica en nuestra comunidad.
