Juvenile Series Spotlight! The Impossible Creatures Series 1-3 by Katherine Rundell. Adults don't be scared to check out our Juvenile and Young Adult sections, they have some really good books in them.

First, we have Impossible Creatures Book 1. The day that Christopher saved a drowning baby griffin from a hidden lake would change his life forever. It's the day he learned about the Archipelago--a cluster of unmapped islands where magical creatures of every kind have thrived for thousands of years, until now. And it's the day he met Mal--a girl on the run, in desperate need of his help. Mal and Christopher embark on a wild adventure, racing from island to island, searching for someone who can explain why the magic is fading and why magical creatures are suddenly dying. They consult sphinxes, battle kraken, and negotiate with dragons. But the closer they get to the dark truth of what's happening, the clearer it becomes: no one else can fix this. If the Archipelago is to be saved, Mal and Christopher will have to do it themselves.

Book 2 The Poisoned King. Christopher Forrester woke to find a dragon chewing on his face--and his heart leapt for joy! He'd been dreaming of going back to the Archipelago, the secret cluster of islands where all the creatures of myth still live, and here was his summons. But there is a poison spreading in the Archipelago. Rooting it out will involve a daring rescue mission on the back of a sphinx, a stealthy entrance to a dragon's lair, and a death-defying plan to save a prisoner held in the heart of a castle. At the center of this storm is Anya: a small girl with a flock of birds at her side, a new-hatched chick in her pocket, and a ravenous hunger for justice.

Book 3 The Neverfear. It's the Midsummer Feast on the islet of Glimt, and on this magical moonlit evening, the word on everyone's lips is bandits . Reports of masked men wreaking havoc are spreading throughout the Archipelago. Christopher and Anya have faced danger before; they think they are prepared for this threat--until they are ambushed and someone very close to them is kidnapped. Their frantic quest to pay the ransom will take them on a wild journey across Glimouria. Together they must face giants, duel with pirates, and race against deadly karkadanns. But just when they think they might succeed, there will come the most Herculean task of all . . .

Fiction Books of the Week!

First, we have Deceptions by Jeffery Deaver. A murder at a crime writers' conference. The method is entirely literary, the motive seems obvious--but can the detective who was first on the scene puzzle out what needs reading between the lines? A brilliant sleuth, obsessed with Sherlock Holmes's mysteries, turns his attention to a serial killer stalking the streets of New York City. But as his deductions bring him closer to his prey, he starts to wonder who is really doing the hunting. A mysterious woman has gone into hiding and Colter Shaw is tasked with bringing her to a safe house. But with a hitman on his trails, the race toward safety takes on a whole new meaning. A serial killer with a motive never before seen in the history of crime challenges Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs to rethink everything they know about the nature of evil--and the evidence its perpetrators leave at the scenes.

Next, we have Ask For Andrea by Noelle W. Ihli. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He's gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they're not gone. They've found each other. And they won't rest until they find a way to stop him. The haunt is on.

Last, we have Her Family Secret by Melissa Wiesner. The father you never knew, has left behind a heartbreaking secret... June Westwood is devastated by the news the father she never met has died. Now the truth about why Jasper abandoned her as a child will be buried forever. Escaping to the secluded beach house she's inherited, June hopes to spend time bonding with her two little daughters, away from her hectic job and failing marriage. On the wild shores of the Pacific Northwest, her father's hideaway leaves June breathless. But it's his oil paintings decorating every wall that surprise her most. How could someone paint other people so beautifully, but reject those closest to him? And why is every drawer in her father's workshop locked? June hopes her new neighbor-her father's apprentice Caleb-will provide the answers. But Caleb won't talk about the past. Then, hidden in her father's workshop, June discovers a box of newspaper clippings that reveal the shocking reason why her father left years ago-and uncovers Caleb's own devastating secret... When her old life comes calling, June has an impossible decision to make. Unsure what's best for her girls, and if she can trust Caleb, will digging deeper into her father's dark past heal or destroy her precious family?

The last day of Tiny Tales was all about play! And play they did. The kids had so much fun with the activities we had available. They jumped, they crawled, they had a little obstacle course, they were kids. Sometimes it's good to just let your kids run it out.

Teen Game Night 10/08/2026 We had a fun time playing games with the kiddos. We had snacks, drinks and I even made some popcorn. Pictionary is always a hit with this age group; they get so competitive. We had a bunch of laughs. I will definitely do this again!
