🇺🇸 9/11 WALK TO REMEMBER 🇺🇸

Today, members of the Madill Fire Department joined fellow first responders, their families, and members of our community for the 9/11 Walk to Remember — coming together to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the heroes who answered the call.

We were honored to walk alongside:

🚒 Kingston Fire Department
🚒 Hauani Creek Fire Department
🚒 Buncombe Creek Fire Department
🚒 Texoma Fire Department
🚒 Enos Fire Department
🚒 Willis Powell Fire Department
🚑 Marshall County EMS
🚓 Kingston Police Department
🚓 Madill Police Department
🚒 And all of the other fire, EMS, law enforcement, and first responder departments who joined us.

Most importantly, we want to thank the families and members of our community who showed up, walked with us, and helped keep the memory of September 11th alive.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

The courage, sacrifice, and selflessness displayed by first responders and ordinary Americans on that day continue to remind us of what it means to stand together in the face of tragedy.

🇺🇸 Never Forget.
🚒 Never Forgotten.
🕊️ September 11, 2001 — We Remember.

This morning we raise the flag so we Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, we remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, and all the first responders who ran toward the danger on September 11, 2001, while others were running away.

They gave everything they had to save others. Many never made it home.

We also remember the innocent lives lost that day, and the families who were forever changed by the loss of a husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, friend, or loved one.

To the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice: your courage, bravery, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

And to the families who still carry that loss after all these years: we remember your loved ones, we honor their lives today and forever.

❤️ Thank You, Madill Community! ❤️

The Madill Fire Department would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Bruster family, Janlee Hoppers, Chris Bradshaw, Donna Hartin, Lori hartin and family, Brooke Hickman, Ruben Rivera, Campbell family and the Ayres family for stopping by and bringing snacks and drinks for our firefighters.

Our firefighters have been working incredibly hard over the past month, responding to structure fires and wildfires—especially with the dry, hot weather we’ve been experiencing. Your kindness and support mean more than you know!

The Madill Fire Department is truly grateful to everyone who supports these men and women, especially during times like these. It’s moments like this that really show you what a good community looks like.

Thank you again for thinking of our firefighters and showing your appreciation. We are blessed to serve such a supportive community!

🚒 Thank you from all of us at the Madill Fire Department! 🚒

🚒💦 Training Day = Learning + Fun! 💦🚒

Yesterday our firefighters got hands-on with some valuable training—and had a little fun along the way! Even in this heat From water fights to real-world pumping operations, every drill had a purpose.

Our crew practiced drafting water from various water sources, working on pumping operations, and sharpening the skills needed to move water efficiently during an emergency. 💪🚒💧

We also practiced techniques for stopping sprinkler heads from spraying, including using wooden wedges to control the flow when appropriate. These skills can make a big difference when working in a structure with an active sprinkler system.

And yes… there may have been a few water fights along the way! 😎💦 Sometimes the best training is the kind you enjoy while learning.

🚒💦Madill Fire Department had a blast helping kick off the school year by spraying down the high school band with a little extra water after practice! 😂💦

It was all smiles, laughter, and good times as we celebrated together at the Community Back to School Bash. We love getting out, having fun, and supporting our students, families, and community!

Chief Mike Idleman also made some little kids days! 🍦when the ice cream truck came by and he bought the kids some ice cream. Chief is such a good example of what caring for your community is all about.

Here’s to a safe, successful, and FUN school year! Go Cats
