Lakeview Library is an AARP tax filing site every year, making filing more accessible.

Friends of Lakeview learned of a great volunteer opportunity!

"Help low to moderate income and older taxpayers at tax time.

If you are good with numbers and like helping people, AARP TaxAide needs volunteers to file taxes for low to moderate income and older taxpayers for free! No need to be an accountant or have a financial background. There is in-person, virtual training and resources for self-study. Volunteers may choose different roles such as:
Counselors – work with taxpayers to file tax returns.
Client Facilitators – welcome taxpayers and help them organize their paperwork

We prepare taxes at libraries and senior centers around the community so that determines what days and times a site is open. You pick when and where to volunteer during tax season!

You will learn a lot, help your neighbors, and make new friends! "

Come one, come all - to the Lakeview Library Book Sale!!

THIS Saturday August 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

$10 BAG SALE from 2:30pm - 4pm

2845 North Sherman Avenue

All proceeds support Lakeview Library programming.

We happily accept donations of books, vinyl albums, CDs and DVDs two days before the sale:

- Thursday, August 13th from 12 PM to 7:30 PM

- Friday, August 14th from 10 to 7:30 PM.

[We cannot accept: computer materials older than 2 years, travel books older than 3 years, encyclopedias, textbooks, or books that are torn, dirty, or dusty.]

We can accept payments of cash, credit card, or check.

The Friends of Lakeview Library (FOLL) Board of Directors will be holding a book sale on Saturday August 15, 2026 from 9am to 4pm.

All book sale proceeds support Lakeview Library programs.

For the upcoming August 15, 2026 book sale we will happily accept donations of books, vinyl albums, and CDs/DVDs at Lakeview Library on-
Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 12 PM to 7:30 PM
and
Friday, August 14, 2026 from 10 to 7:30 PM.

Before donating, please ask yourself, "Would I want to buy this item?" If you would not consider buying the items that you are donating, it is unlikely that anyone else will want to purchase them. We will gratefully accept donations in good condition. We cannot accept: computer materials older than 2 years, travel books older than 3 years, encyclopedias, textbooks, or books that are torn, dirty, or dusty. Thank you for your understanding.

We will also have a “Preview” sale on Friday night (August 14, 2026) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM so that our valued Friends can have the first opportunity to purchase!

Our Friends of Lakeview Library book sales are completely volunteer-run. Please consider signing-up for a volunteer shift to help accept and sort donations prior to the book sale; to work during the book sale; and/or, to help at the end of the book sale to help pack up and remove unsold items.
