Tropical Storm Isaias is heading towards Mississippi. If you or someone you love has type 1 diabetes, now is the time to prepare.

Breakthrough T1D and other leading diabetes organizations have joined forces through the Diabetes Disaster Response Coalition (DDRC) to make sure people with diabetes have the support, insulin, and supplies they need before a major storm hits.

The DDRC urges everyone with type 1 diabetes, and their loved ones, in vulnerable areas to put together a diabetes kit and a plan to stay safe.

IT'S WALK DAY! Today, our Mississippi community gathers at Flowood Nature Park to walk for everyone living with type 1 diabetes.

Doors open at 1:00 pm and the Walk begins at 2:30 pm. Thank you to every walker, team, sponsor, volunteer, and donor who made today possible. We are one step closer to a cure because of you.

ONE. DAY. LEFT. We cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow at the Breakthrough T1D Mississippi Walk at Flowood Nature Park!

Here's what to expect on Walk Day: • Walk site opens at 1:00 pm, with Check In, the Sponsor Village, Team Tents, and Kids Activities Area open right away • Popsicles with Rufus for teams who've raised $5,000 or more • A warm up performance from the Oak Forest Cheer Team at 1:45 pm • T1D Parade and Opening Ceremony at 2:00 pm, including our new Flag Ceremony honoring everyone's T1D connection • Walk begins at 2:30 pm • New this year: the Community Wall, Pathway to Progress, and Breakthrough Mile along the route • Snacks and stage activities continue until 4:00 pm
