The MCHS Homecoming Parade is THIS FRIDAY, and we want to see our Bulldog community out cheering loud and proud!

Here's What You Need to Know:

🗓️Friday, October 16th

🚧 Road Closures Begin at 1:30 PM --Moreland Avenue, College Avenue, College Drive and MCHS campus entrance off Highway 441 will be closed.

Student Checkout Ends:
- MCPS: 1:00 PM
- MCES: 12:30 PM
-MCMS: 1:00 PM
- MCHS: 1:30 PM

🚗Parking: Please use the Aquatic Center parking lot.

Frontline Friday!!

A Morgan County man with felony warrants decided he wasn’t pulling over for Dep. Wesley and Dep. Hasel. That led to a pursuit through Rutledge, with speeds staying under 40 mph.

Another example of great work by our deputies. You never know what you’re going to run into out there on the streets.

There’s a lot that goes into keeping our deputies and the public safe. Sometimes, what you hear on the radio matters just as much as what you see on camera.

Expect delays around 20 and mile marker 118 westbound, where a tractor trailer caught on fire. They are currently working to clean up the scene.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Dixie Highway is shut down at Shoals Court due to a plane crash. Power may be out in the area. Crews are working on downed power lines. Please avoid the area.

UPDATE:

We have identified the vehicle and driver involved in the crosswalk incident.

After speaking with the driver and his family, we learned that he is an elderly man visiting from South Georgia who is experiencing the onset of dementia. This is a difficult situation, and it is important to remember that there are multiple families dealing with this incident.

I have spoken with Prince’s owners, and they are in agreement that no charges should be filed at this time.

We appreciate everyone who shared our original post and helped us bring attention to this incident. Most importantly, we were able to get some answers for Prince’s owners.

This is also a reminder to look out for our family members. If you have a loved one whose ability to safely drive is becoming a concern, have the hard conversation. Taking the keys away from someone you love is never easy, but sometimes it is necessary to keep them and others safe.
