October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month
Are you aware of the difference between a cardiac arrest and a heart attack? Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a life-threatening emergency that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. It strikes people of all ages who may seem to be healthy, even children and teens.
Cardiac arrests occurring outside of hospitals claim 350,000 lives annually, but you can make a difference!
Remember the steps:
Call 911,
Learn CPR (Push), and
Know the locations & how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) (Shock)
