Home School Hangout: Rocks 🪨 Do you love rocks? We do! Come explore interesting facts about rocks and fossils on October 27 from 2 PM to 3 PM at the Madison Library. We will share several books including, "When You Find the Right Rock" by Mary Lyn Ray. Learn about the three main types of rocks: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The program will end with rock painting to create your own work of art or 'pet' rock. All ages welcome. Registration is appreciated but not required. The Dickinson Reading Room 📖 Whether you've read Emily Dickinson for years or you're simply curious about the poet behind the famous white dress, join our monthly Emily Dickinson Discussion Circle on October 23 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Madison Public Library, offered both in-person and online.

This laid-back gathering explores Dickinson's poetry, letters, life, and world through open conversation, like a friendly college seminar without the homework. Join us on October 22 from 5 PM to 6:45 PM at the Madison Public Library for IGNITE, a four-part interactive series designed to help people of all ages become more aware, confident, and proactive about their own protection.

Why a bond? The Library writes grants, partners with the Friends of the Library, and puts its own Rainy Day funds toward big needs. But the building improvement project is bigger than what grants, donations, and reserves can cover. A bond is the tool state law provides to get it done.

The Jefferson County Council is expected to take this up at its meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13 at 5:30 PM at the Jefferson County Public Safety Center in Madison. Meetings are open to the public. See how it works and what the bond would cost: mjcpl.org/improvement-project
