The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize Deputy Guizar as a Purple Ribbon Award recipient at this year’s Light Up the Night domestic violence awareness event, hosted by the Madison County Victim Witness Program.

We are grateful to all of our golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make this event possible. Your generosity, time, and support help strengthen our D.A.R.E. program and make a positive difference in the lives of Madison County’s youth.

School Bus Incident Under Investigation

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an incident that occurred on a school bus earlier this morning involving a 10-year-old student who brought an ai***ft gun to school and displayed it to other students.

The item was confiscated and confirmed to be a toy ai***ft gun. No students were harmed, and there is no threat to students or the public.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. We remind families to speak with their children about the importance of keeping toy guns and replica weapons out of schools and off school buses.

⛳ THANK YOU TO OUR 2026 D.A.R.E. GOLF TOURNAMENT SPONSORS! ⛳

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the local businesses and community partners who have already committed to sponsoring our upcoming D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament this October!

Your support helps make this event possible and directly supports the D.A.R.E. program and our continued efforts to provide positive education and opportunities for Madison County youth. We are fortunate to have such strong community support!

There is still time to become a sponsor! Businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in sponsoring the tournament should contact us by September 20th if you would like us to have a sponsor sign made for the event.

Sponsors may also provide their own sign if they prefer. Contact 540-948-5161 and ask to speak with Deputy Travis McDaniel if you are interested!
