The City of Magnolia is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Hardy as its new Economic Developer. With a strong commitment to community growth and a practical, strategic approach, Hardy is ready to champion local enterprise, support existing businesses, and help shape the city's economic future.
Hardy brings a wealth of specialized experience to Magnolia. Hardy most recently served as the Resiliency Coordinator at Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development, which is located at Magnolia's Harvey Couch Business Park. Her extensive background in emergency management and hazard mitigation provides a unique, pragmatic perspective on economic development. She understands that a thriving local economy is built on a solid foundation, and she is equipped to help local businesses navigate everyday challenges and secure long-term success.

Stepping into this new chapter, Hardy's immediate focus will be on targeted business retention and expansion initiatives—ensuring existing businesses have the support they need while fostering a welcoming environment for new opportunities. Crucially, she is passionate not just about growing the local economy, but about providing the resources and opportunities necessary for business owners and the workforce to grow their skills. Approachable and collaborative, she looks forward to partnering with city officials, local leaders, and residents to build a dynamic, steady, and well-equipped economy for Magnolia.
