📚🌪️ SADLY, I THINK A TORNADO HIT OUR LITTLE FREE LIBRARY! 🌪️📚
Today my husband said, “You better go check your library. You’re not going to like how it looks.”
Well, THAT sounded ominous! 🤨 He knows I’m a neat freak about the library because I want every visitor to have a wonderful experience.
The library I had lovingly restocked and organized on Sunday looked like a tornado had blown through it! Books shoved everywhere, kids’ books mixed with adult books and vice versa, and absolutely NO organization or alignment (Yes, I shelf books neatly for a reason). 😳
The GOOD news? You’ve been taking LOTS of books! 🎉 That’s exactly what we want! That’s what we are here for … to share our love of reading!
The BAD news? Someone has been stuffing the shelves with old or books that simply won’t appeal to anyone.
So, I’m climbing onto my little soapbox. 📣
❤️ Our Little Free Library is a Community Service that we work hard to keep up for you. We have 90% new books because we have curated very generous donors from across the USA. We work HARD to keep our library stocked with popular and appealing books for you and your kids.
So before donating books, please ask yourself: “If I found this book in a Little Free Library, would I want to read it?” If the answer is no, please donate it elsewhere.
We’ve learned that older Danielle Steel, Debbie Macomber, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Dan Brown, mass-market paperbacks, religious books, and how-to books just don’t move in our neighborhood. So we ask that you find another home for those titles.
📚 PLEASE leave ALL donations and returned books on our FRONT PATIO! I am asking everyone not to cram books into the library. I’ll happily sort through them and restock the shelves as needed.
I spent time tonight pulling everything out, reorganizing, and restocking. Now, we’re ready for you to visit tomorrow! ❤️
Scott and I want every visit to Oberlin’s Little Free Library to feel like discovering a tiny, magical bookstore, So please be respectful and help me keep the books tidy so everyone who visits can have a special experience each time they stop by to see us.
Take a book. Share a book. Keep our library shelves tidy. And please don’t make the librarian cry! Stepping down from my soapbox now. 😂📚❤️
