A lot of time and effort has been spent working to improve the Oneida County gun range. We would like to thank all of the Boy Scouts that came out yesterday and also Oneida County Probation for their time spent cleaning up in July. The Oneida County Extension Office worked hard to get the grant for the new structure. Let’s all do our part to keep it clean.

With the Bannock Street project currently underway, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Malad strongly encourage all travelers to use the designated detour routes.

We have already received multiple reports of near-miss accidents involving vehicles attempting to travel through the road closure area. For the safety of the public and construction crews, the Sheriff’s Office will be enforcing Idaho Code 19-623.

Idaho Code 19-623 states:

“Any person who shall proceed or travel through a road block without subjecting himself to the traffic control so established shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300.00, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 6 months, or by both fine and imprisonment.”

Please use caution, follow all posted traffic control signs, and use the designated detours to help keep everyone safe.

Thanks
