🛠️ WE’RE HIRING (NAF): Maintenance Worker | 341 FSS Malmstrom Inn & Suites 🏨

Help keep Malmstrom Inn & Suites safe, functional, and guest-ready! This hands-on role supports lodging operations through routine repairs, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, and facility safety checks—often working independently with minimal supervision.

What you’ll do

✅ Perform general maintenance, custodial, and repair work throughout lodging facilities
✅ Troubleshoot/maintain electronic door entry systems and lodging equipment
✅ Handle minor carpentry, plumbing, and painting repairs

Unclog drains/toilets/showers, replace fixtures/pipes
Paint walls, floors, doors, frames, and outdoor surfaces
✅ Replace light bulbs/fixtures, outlets, switches, ceiling fan light kits; change A/C filters
✅ Repair windows/frames/screens; complete basic furniture repairs; install/remove blinds & drapery
✅ Maintain and repair small equipment (vacuums, irons, carpet shampooers, weedeaters, lawn mowers, etc.)
✅ Complete seasonal groundskeeping (watering/pruning/trim, litter pickup, snow removal, ice control)
✅ Investigate reported issues, correct problems, and report major concerns to supervisor
✅ Plan your workday, complete work orders, and maintain required logs
✅ Operate vehicles up to 10,000 lbs, complete AF Form 1800, and manage preventative maintenance scheduling for lodging vehicles
✅ Maintain tools/bench stock and use hand & power tools (drills, saws, routers, standard hand tools)
✅ Conduct monthly facility safety inspections (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, exit signs)
✅ Manage linen operations: count/sort for pickup, distribute clean linens, serve as QA evaluator for linen contractor, conduct monthly inventories, and maintain documentation

Love creativity, hands-on projects, and helping others learn new skills? Join the Arts & Crafts Center team and support our Skills Development Program—where we help the community create, customize, and build!

What you’ll do

✅ Support daily operations of the Skills Development Program and assist staff across the center
✅ Operate specialty equipment, including:

computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines
heat presses, air brushes, pouring tables, kilns
mat cutters, choppers, and hand/power tools
✅ Provide excellent customer service—answer phones, assist patrons, and support safe work procedures
✅ Help customers place special orders and guide them through project options
✅ Run the cash register—collect payments, make change, issue receipts, close out register, and complete required paperwork
✅ Maintain security of merchandise, equipment, and funds
✅ With supervisor guidance, provide demonstrations and basic instruction on crafts and techniques
✅ Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
✅ Other duties as assigned

Join our Lodging team and help keep Malmstrom Inn & Suites running smoothly and looking its best! This hands-on role supports guest satisfaction through daily maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep.

What you’ll do

✅ Perform a variety of maintenance, custodial, and repair tasks throughout the lodging facility
✅ Troubleshoot and repair electronic door entry systems and lodging equipment
✅ Complete minor carpentry, plumbing, and painting (unclog drains/toilets/showers, replace fixtures/pipes, paint walls/doors/frames)

✅ Conduct monthly facility safety checks (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, exit signs)
✅ Manage linen operations: counts, inventory, contractor coordination, QA oversight, and documentation

Join our Food & Beverage team and help serve up quality meals for our community! We’re looking for a dependable Cook who can work efficiently, follow recipes, and keep the kitchen running smoothly.

What you’ll do

✅ Prepare and cook simple menu items with minimal processing (pancakes, eggs, sausage, hamburgers, fresh/canned vegetables)
✅ Cook hot cereals, broiled meats, soups, sauces, and gravies; prepare cold sandwich fillings
✅ Prepare convenience items (hash browns, fish fillets, chicken nuggets) — may include pizza prep/baking
✅ Perform food prep (peel, chop, slice, dice, bread, measure, and assemble ingredients)
✅ Set up and restock salad bar; portion food for service

Do you love working with kids and making a difference for military families? Join our Child & Youth Programs team! CYPA positions support children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years in a safe, engaging, and positive environment.

What you’ll do (all levels)

✅ Ensure the whereabouts, safety, and supervision of children and youth
✅ Help lead age-appropriate activities (indoor/outdoor), field trips, outings, and special events
✅ Support daily routines, serve snacks/meals, and assist with participant needs
✅ Follow program policies and regulations
✅ May transport children in government vehicles (as required)

Level highlights

ENTRY LEVEL:

Assist with planned activities using prepared curriculum
Perform routine tasks with step-by-step guidance
Help track supplies and support children’s basic needs

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:

Help plan and conduct activities and daily schedules
Ensure activities are age/stage appropriate
Communicate with parents, staff, and leadership as needed

Love libraries, organization, and keeping systems running behind the scenes? Join our team in Technical Services, where you’ll help ensure our collection is ordered, processed, cataloged, and ready for the community.

What you’ll do
✅ Lead and support technical services operations (the behind-the-scenes engine of the library)
✅ Process acquisitions and procurement requests following AF Library & Information System guidelines
✅ Collect bibliographic data for ordering, renew subscriptions, and track incoming materials
✅ Monitor receipts and follow up on outstanding orders; resolve delivery discrepancies
✅ Recommend titles for potential collection additions
✅ Perform copy cataloging and update records using tools like OCLC and the library’s Integrated Library System (ILS)
✅ Maintain authority records (name/series/subject control) and ensure catalog accuracy
✅ Prepare and process library materials (multiple formats) for customer use
✅ Manage periodicals (log issues, track missing items) and assist with annual inventory
✅ Prepare items for disposal/excess/DRMO and complete required paperwork
✅ Maintain stock of office and specialized library supplies
✅ Provide ready reference support, assist users with library equipment, and support circulation desk as needed
✅ Use advanced computer software to create/edit correspondence, reports, memos, and more
