We don't have to agree on everything. But we should be able to agree that six years is long enough to expect results.
I've spent the last two years knocking on thousands of doors, sitting down with local leaders, visiting farms and small businesses, talking with teachers, parents, firefighters, and neighbors across Senate District 19.
And I keep hearing the same things.
People are working hard, paying their taxes, and doing everything they're supposed to do. And somehow, it's getting harder to get by.
Meanwhile, my opponent has spent six years in Madison supporting policies that have made life harder for many of the very people she's supposed to represent.
She's supported expanding private school vouchers while our public schools struggle. She's opposed Medicaid expansion while families face rising healthcare costs. A $35 insulin cap for Wisconsinites never made it out of the committee she chairs. And she's declined opportunities to answer questions from voters at public forums.
That's a record. And records matter.
Here's what I offer instead.
I'll fight to properly fund our public schools, lower healthcare and utility costs, support our local governments and emergency services, and make sure the people closest to the problems have a seat at the table.
My promise to you is this: I'll show up, listen, answer the hard questions... and I'll work with anyone who's willing to do the work. (No, I don't give a darn about what letter you've got behind your name.)
We deserve more than the bare minimum. We deserve representation that is curious, accountable, hardworking, and willing to challenge the status quo when it isn't serving us.
On November 3, you have a choice between more of the same and a different kind of leadership.
I hope you'll trust me with the opportunity to show you what that can look like.
