What is the Wisconsin Science Festival?
The Wisconsin Science Festival is a statewide celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math with activities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests throughout Wisconsin. Events include hands-on science exhibitions, demonstrations, performances, tours, pub nights, workshops and more.

There are a lot of misconceptions about death investigation and autopsy, largely due to inaccurate portrayals on television. Learn more about what really happens after someone dies from death investigation to autopsy. Fact can be more interesting than fiction!

Jamie Kallan is a Wisconsin native who attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison for both college and medical school. Kallan then completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology in Denver, Colorado before finishing her forensic pathology fellowship in Miami, Florida. After having worked at the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner in Salt Lake City, she is thrilled to be back home working as a board-certified forensic pathologist at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health!

This is a free, in-person talk hosted on October 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM by Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa, WI. No registration required. This talk will not be available virtually.
