Working in direct service, whether at a CAC or in another role, requires compassion, patience, dedication, and resilience. When your work requires that level of effort, it can be easy to forget to take time for yourself.
But self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s necessary. And it doesn’t have to be time-consuming to make a difference.
Quick At-Work Tip: Set an alarm if you need to and take several short, 2–5 minute breaks throughout the day to stretch, breathe deeply, or walk away from your desk to reset your nervous system.
What's your best self-care tip?

Healing looks different for everyone, and there is no set timeline.
But when support is available early, children are better able to process, cope, and move forward.
That’s the power of timely care and co-located services. 💚

Our new home in Manchester now has the first handprints on its walls—and handprints carried from our previous homes too. Each one is a reminder to the children we serve: you were here, you are brave, and you are never alone. ❤️

Trauma-informed care isn’t just what we do—it’s how we do it.
It means creating spaces where children feel safe, supported, and in control so they can process and begin to heal.

We're grateful to Modern Woodmen of America Financial Services for donating care packages with fun items and activities for kids interviewed at the CAC through the Do Good grant program. Big thanks to MWA financial rep Andrew Vollaro for picking the CAC for this opportunity and volunteers from some of our local MDT partners for coming by to help pack the bags!

We are proud to share that the HEART program is officially up and running in the Nashua School District! ❤️
We have completed training for 40 professionals across 20 Nashua schools, expanding trauma-informed support for students throughout the district.
We’re so grateful for the community partnerships that helped bring HEART to the largest school population in our catchment area—Nashua now joins the Merrimack, Pelham, and Wilton school districts in implementing the HEART program with the Nashua CAC.

CACs open the door to healing... and our new home on Chestnut Street has a lot of doors!
The door for you depends on why you are visiting. We are patiently waiting for our signs to arrive, so in the meantime, we hope this helps you choose the door you need when you arrive—and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the staff at the CAC 🩵

This home's history is full of stories—for 145 years, 607 Chestnut Street was a funeral home serving the greater Manchester community. In moments of grief, connection, and farewell, people gathered here.
Today, that purpose continues in another form. It is still a place where people gather—not to say goodbye, but to move forward and find hope, healing, and support.
Generations have found comfort within these walls, and generations more will continue to do so. 💚

How It Started vs. How It's Going...
The GSCA Behavioral Health program started in 2020 with one clinician.
At this time in 2023, there were two: Andrew and Abby 🙂
Three years later, they co-manage GSCA's behavioral health program, now a team of six and growing. We are so proud to offer these services, and even prouder of the team that provides them.
Happy National Mental Health Provider Appreciation Day—we appreciate each and every one of you, and the phenomenal work you do. 💚
