According to a recent study, more than half of children under 6 in the U.S. had detectable levels of lead in their blood. There is no level of lead exposure that is known to be safe, according to the World Health Organization.

Next week is International Lead Poisoning Prevention week. This marks a time to reflect on the immeasurable harm lead exposure has caused to people around the world, while also committing ourselves to continue the year-round fight against childhood lead exposure in our own homes and communities.

Looking for a promising new career? The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for hazardous material removal workers will grow much faster than average between 2019 and 2029!

This month, the City of Manchester is offering qualifying individuals the opportunity to attend a full, NH State recognized Lead Abatement Worker or Lead Abatement Supervisor training at no cost for anyone whose household income qualifies. ($71,450 or less annually for a family of four)
