✨Staff Spotlight ✨

The heart of BCNH is our people.

Today we’re spotlighting a member of our team whose work spans across the entire organization. Vijay does it all, from helping a client navigate a new system, connecting our case management staff to new resources, building reports for our grantors, and so much more.

Meet BCNH's Deputy Director, Vijay Bhujel!

Vijay is originally from Bhutan. He spent 22 years in Jhapa Refugee Camp, Nepal, awaiting resettlement before coming to the United States in 2012. He was trained in Nepal and India as a math and physics teacher. Upon arrival in New Hampshire, he worked at Wal-Mart and as a substitute teacher in the Concord School District. He also joined the board of directors of BCNH, when it was still known as the Bhutanese Community of New Hampshire, and served two terms from 2012 through 2016. He joined the staff at Ascentria Care Alliance, a refugee resettlement agency in Concord, in 2013, and has served there as a community health worker, case manager, and team manager.

When asked about his favorite part of his job, Vijay responded, "I'm connected to purpose, representation, and giving others the support I once needed."

We are proud to be a team shaped by lived experience, language, and deep community connection and lucky to have Vijay at BCNH.
