💛 We’ll do almost anything for the people we love. But taking care of yourself matters, too.

This video is a reminder that caring for your family also means making time for your own health.

Breast and cervical cancer screenings can help find cancer early. And Women’s Way may provide a way to pay for these screenings if you qualify.

If you live in Grant, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Mountrail, Oliver or Sioux County, Western Plains Public Health can help you learn more and find out if Women’s Way may be an option for you.

💉 Is your family up to date on routine immunizations?

Vaccines help protect you and those around you...from preventable diseases like tetanus, HPV, polio, measles, meningitis, and whooping cough.

How? Vaccines work by helping your body build immunity, which is its natural defense against disease.

Western Plains Public Health is here to help. If you have questions about immunization schedules or would like to schedule an appointment, please call your local office:

💗 Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

Today, we remember the babies who were loved, the pregnancies that ended too soon, and the families who carry those memories with them.

Pregnancy and infant loss can be an experience that is difficult to talk about, but remembering and acknowledging these losses matters.

If you or someone you love has experienced a loss, know that your grief is real, your baby mattered, and you don’t have to go through it alone. 💗

Today, we remember. We honor. We hold space for the love that remains. 🕯️

🧼💧 Celebrate Global Handwashing Day!

Fighting germs doesn’t have to be complicated. It can start with a little soap and water. 🫧

Wash your hands often, especially before eating, after using the restroom, and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.

A few seconds of good handwashing can help keep germs from spreading and help keep you and those around you healthier. 💚

🧼 + 💧 = 💪 against germs!

🚗❄️ Did someone say winter is coming? Is your vehicle ready? 🥶

The temperatures are dropping, and before we know it, snow and icy roads will be here! Now is a great time to get your vehicle ready for the colder months ahead. 🧤

A little preparation now can make a big difference when you're on the road. Take time to:
✅ Check your tires, battery, lights, and windshield wipers.
✅ Top off your fluids and keep your gas tank from getting too low.
✅ Pack a winter emergency kit with blankets, warm clothing, a flashlight, snacks, water, a phone charger, and jumper cables.
✅ Check the forecast and road conditions before traveling.

🧊 Hitting the road this winter? An emergency kit for your car might come in handy when you least expect it!

👉 Find out what to include in your emergency car kit: ready.gov/car

A few minutes of preparation today can help you travel with greater peace of mind tomorrow. Stay safe out there, North Dakota! 💙
