🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, the Manderson Police Department remembers the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honors the countless heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness.

🌡️ Extreme Heat Alert 🌡️

The Manderson Police Department wants to remind everyone that record-high temperatures are expected this weekend. Please take a few simple precautions to keep yourself, your family, and your neighbors safe.

💧 Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air-conditioned locations as much as possible during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be vulnerable to the heat.
🐾 Don’t forget your pets! Make sure they have plenty of fresh water and shade, and never leave them in a parked vehicle.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes.
☀️ If you must be outside, wear light-colored clothing, use sunscreen, and take frequent breaks in the shade.

Let’s all do our part to stay safe and look out for one another. If you see someone experiencing signs of heat-related illness, call 911 immediately.

Stay safe, stay cool, and have a great weekend!

Today, on Police Officer Memorial Day, we stop to remember the law enforcement officers across our nation who gave their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice, courage and commitment, for the protection of others will not be forgotten.
Behind every badge lost is a family, a department, and a community that has been changed forever. Today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we keep their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers today and every day.

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
