FYI:

We have just been notified that a planned release from the pipelines near Manhattan Junior High School and Manhattan Intermediate School is scheduled to take place very soon.

Residents in the area may notice an unusual odor or hear sounds associated with this planned activity. We have been advised that the activity should last approximately one hour.

As always, if you believe there is an emergency or have an immediate safety concern, please do not hesitate to call 911.

Keep an eye on the weather today. If you have to travel and come across a flooded road, turn around! Don't drown! And yes that means you too in the lifted vehicles! Please don't drive around barricades or cones just because you think your vehicle can make it. With the amount of rain forecast for today, the drainage systems will become overloaded quickly so please be patient while they catch up.

Waves of showers and thunderstorms this weekend will be capable of torrential downpours which may result in localized flooding, especially in poor drainage and low-lying areas. While the heaviest rainfall is favored this morning through Sunday morning near and north of the I-80 corridor, some uncertainty in exact rainfall placement remains. Make sure to stay updated on the latest forecast.
