Our Ag Agent, along with four other agents from across Kansas, spent the week completing instructor training to prepare to teach youth and adult ATV Rider safety courses!

ATV safety is a critical issue throughout Kansas and across the country. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, off-highway vehicle incidents—including ATVs, recreational off-highway vehicles and utility task vehicles—result in more than 800 deaths annually on average and approximately 100,000 emergency department-treated injuries each year. ATVs account for the majority of these fatalities.

These numbers are a powerful reminder that safety training, proper protective equipment, and responsible riding habits matter. Whether ATVs are used for recreation or work on the farm, education can help riders better understand the risks and make safer decisions.

We’re excited to bring this knowledge back to our communities and help equip both youth and adults with the skills and knowledge they need to ride safely!

Stay safe, Riley County! 💚

We have MORE State Champions! 📷

Congratulations to our senior and intermediate state photo judging teams!

Our senior team was made up of Jameson M., Lane S., Alena W., and Marek W. and placed 9th out of 27 teams!

Our intermediate team placed first in the state! Each member of the intermediate team also secured spots in the top 10 individual placings which was an incredible accomplishment. The intermediate team included 1st place Emerson B., 5th place Audrey H., 9th place Carly R., and 10th place Olivia L. They were up against more than 70 other individuals and about 25 other teams so we are so proud of them.

A huge thank you to all the families who supported their 4-Her in getting them to Hutchinson for the event and to the 4-Hers for their hard work and time they took preparing for and taking part in the event. We are so proud of you!
