K-State Agricultural Education was well represented at the University of Illinois this week!

Maggie Chandler and Ella Pachta presented at the National Learner-Centered Teaching Conference, where Ella also shared an innovative idea poster. Meanwhile, Brandie Disberger presented research stemming from the graduate work of Noah Stewart and Creed Ammons at the North Central American Association for Agricultural Education (NAAAE) Conference.

We are proud to see the work of our students, graduates and faculty contributing to important conversations about teaching, learning and the future of agricultural education.

It was great to see K-State Ag Ed alumna Mrs. Wickstrum connecting with current Agricultural Education students at Cultivating Women in Ag with Sigma Alpha. Conversations like these remind us how strong the Ag Ed community is, with alumni sharing their experiences and encouraging the next generation of ag teachers.

The 2026 K-State Ag Ed Welding Bootcamp kicked off at Abilene High School! K-State Agricultural Education seniors spent the day learning and practicing their welding skills. They were mentored by retired agriculture teachers and professionals.

Big thanks to Mark Meyer for organizing the event and Abilene High School (Gavin Fry and Cauy Hayes) for hosting.

Thank you to the retired ag teachers and mentors: Melisa Bertz, Jim Morgan, and Dean Brown.

Thank you to Mike Womichil (Matheson) and Kansas State University Applied Learning Experience Grant for the financial support.
